Statement for Waterloo Housing - part of the Platform Housing Group. Updated August 2019
Waterloo Housing is primarily a Midlands-based housing provider with around 26,000 properties across central England. We are part of the Platform Housing Group.
Our vision is to make a difference. Our mission is to continually strive to improve services to our customers and their local communities whilst maximising the provision of affordable homes for the future.
We invest our surpluses into developing more affordable low cost home ownership and rented homes to enable communities we work with to thrive.
It is important to us that we employ ethical business practices that are aligned with our mission and core values.
As an employer we are committed to paying the National Living Wage and regularly review all our terms of employment to ensure that they comply with all relevant legislation.
We manage projects and procure services and products from a range of contractors/suppliers. All of our key contractors and suppliers (including many small and medium sized contractors) have been informed of our approach to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and asked to confirm the steps that they have taken or are taking to ensure compliance with the Act too.
We are committed to doing what we can to combat slavery and human trafficking (in the UK).
Our anti-slavery and human trafficking statement reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing systems and controls that seek to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
Platform Housing Group does not wish to support or deal with any business knowingly involved in slavery or human trafficking in any part of its operations. Our approach to modern slavery and human trafficking will be reflected in updated procurement and tender criteria which are under review. This will ensure that we continue to do the following:
We will continue to assess any instances of non-compliance and will then take remedial action as appropriate. We will only trade with those who fully comply with this policy or those who are taking verifiable steps towards compliance.
This statement is made under section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It constitutes our Group's slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31st March 2019. The turnover of the Group exceeds £36 million for that period.
This statement is approved by Platform Housing Group Executive Team on behalf of the Platform Housing Group Board and applies to all organisations within the Group (including Waterloo Housing). It will continue to be reviewed and updated as necessary or, as a minimum, on an annual basis.
