The day to day management of the Housing Register in East Lindsey is currently delivered by Waterloo Housing Group, but from 1st October 2019 this function will be carried out by East Lindsey District Council
East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) hope that customers will be able to access the new register mid-to-late October after they have undertaken sufficient testing.
ELDC have also purchased a new IT system and are in the process of configuring
this. They hope the new system will significantly improve the customer journey and the overall experience of applying and bidding for social housing.
From the 1st October, until they go live with the new IT system, ELDC will use a Direct Let process to rehouse applicants. This means that properties will not be advertised by ELDC or Waterloo Housing for this duration. ELDC will be putting applicants forward for properties based on the information they currently hold such as banding, area and property preferences.
ELDC will start advertising properties again as soon as they go-live.
East Lindsey District Council are regrettably no longer going to transfer most of the current housing applicant’s details to the new register because this would have created unacceptable delays. They will be asking applicants to re-register which will ensure the data is accurate rather than relying on old data which could be out of date and/or inaccurate.
ELDC are working toward accessing all proofs such as copies of passports, driving licences, doctor and benefit letters which have previously been provided meaning applicants wont’ have to provide this again unless it is out of date or they require further information.
ELDC have written to all applicants to advise them of these changes and what is expected of them and are committed to minimising any disruption and/or inconvenience to applicants and will provide a direct support to those who may struggle to update their application.
ELDC are looking to hold housing surgeries where applicants can access support with their application. They are committed to ensuring that all eligible people have equitable access to the housing register and depending on individual circumstances, we will be offering a number of home visits.
Access to the new register will be through the ELDC website.

You can find out more about these changes on the East Lindsey District Council website (https://www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/article/11885/Apply-For-Social-Housing) - some pages on the Waterloo Housing site will be removed from 1st October 2019 in line with these changes. If you have any enquiries or concerns regarding your application, please contact East Lindsey District Council Housing Hub directly using the details above
Waterloo Housing would like to reassure existing customers that this will not affect them - this only applies to new customers and persons in the midst of making an application via Homes Direct in the East Lindsey area. If you are unsure if you may be affected, please contact East Lindsey District Council Directly in the first instance.
