Platform Housing Group – which is made up of Fortis Living and Waterloo Housing and is one of the country's leading social housing landlords – has pledged its support towards this year's Gas Safety Week
We will be joining this month’s national safety campaign - which runs from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 September - with a dedicated social media campaign targeting families and customers on how to be gas safe and vigilant.
The annual event – which is organised by The Gas Safe Register, the UK’s official gas registration body – sees organisations from across the UK working together to raise awareness of the dangers of poorly maintained gas appliances which can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning.
Karl Hodgkins, Compliance and Gas Manager said : “We are a gas registered organisation and use only gas safe registered companies to carry out our gas, oil and solid fuel repairs and maintenance to all our properties. Ensuring we achieve the highest safety standards for our customers remains at the very heart of what we do.
”We will be harnessing the power of social media during the campaign to really get our message across.”
The social landlord’s Property Care subsidiary arranges annual gas safety checks to make sure that all gas appliances, fittings and flues are safe; those with a solid fuel boiler are provided with a carbon monoxide alarm.
Platform Housing Group provides homes from Herefordshire in the West to the Lincolnshire coast in the East, and from the Derbyshire Dales in the North to the Cotswolds in the South.
